Very easy & adaptable to meet any dietary requirements. Takes 5 mins to get it all ready and then you just put it in the oven for 10-15mins - cant go wrong, trust me!
150gramsmixed nuts - or literally 150g of any nuts you have in the cupboard!
80gramswhole blanced hazelnuts
3tbspmaple syrup
1tbspcacao/cocoa powder
1tbspwater
Optional Extras
1tspvanilla
Pack ofSchar Wafers - or Wafer curls from Holland and Barrett if you're dairy free
Asda chocolate crispies bar - or any choc bar you fancy
Instructions
Pre-heat the oven to 160oC
Create your base by whizzing 150g of nuts and 30g of hazelnuts in a blender - looking for large breadcrumbs (only takes a few seconds)
In a pan, heat the following at a low temperature until combined: maple syrup, vanilla, cocoa powder and water.
Pour the base nuts into the pan with the syrup solution and mix together.
Add the remaining whole hazelnuts and mix together.
Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the granola over it.
Bake for 10-15mins until the nuts are starting to toast.
Optional: Cut up the chocolate bar into small pieces and scatter over the granola. Crumble at least half the packet of Schar wafers through the mixture too. Pile the mixture together in the middle of the baking tray (to keep the heat in which will melt the chocolate and form granola clusters!)
Leave to cool and transfer into a jar until ready!
